Artist Talk and Conversation: Angela Dufresne

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Friday, September 21, 5:00 p.m. cash bar, 6:00 p.m. panel
Artist Angela Dufresne presents on works in the exhibition, Making a Scene, followed by a conversation with Erin Dziedzic, Kemper Museum director of curatorial affairs, and artists Geoffrey Chadsey and Carrie Moyer.
New York–based artist Angela Dufresne (b. 1969) makes a scene with her large-scale paintings and videos in this exhibition of works spanning nearly a decade. Focusing on her signature depictions of modern life, Dufresne compositionally connects us to the history of painting and cinema. Dufresne’s paintings and videos are expressions of “the stuff of the world, in dialogue with media, cultural production, and history as performance.”
