KC-based East of Red Arthouse is a new organization dedicated to cultivating artists and providing a space for arts East of Troost Ave in KCMO.  Currently the ArtHouse is curating a series of shows at the Wright Manor located in Kansas City's historic NorthEast as well as producing a weekly open mic and Poetry Slam called Arsyn Spit Fire Mic Nights at the Equal Minded Cafe. This year they are bringing together a group of poets and musicians in a scripted Broadway-style showcase format to support the ArtHouse.  The show will include poets that have represented Kansas City at the National Poetry slam for last 4 years, Charlotte Street Residents and other special guests.  The show will include elements of story telling, song, instrumentation, and feature different types of poetry ranging from love to activism.
