Formed in 2005 at the DAKh Center for Contemporary Art in Kiev, DakhaBrakha is a Ukrainian folk quartet that performs the music of several ethnic groups. The distinctive vocal arrangement of the group’s songs requires one male and three female vocalists, the latter singing in close harmonies. The members are Marko Halanevych (vocals, percussion, harmonica, accordion), Olena Tsybulska (vocals, percussion), Iryna Kovalenko (vocals, flute, piano, ukulele), and Nina Harenetska (vocals, cello).
Sunday, October 14 at 5:00 PM at the Mutual Musicians Foundation. Free admission.
