Sankofa Danzafro
Contemporary dance company Sankofa Danzafro hails from the city of Medellín in Colombia, the country with the second largest population of African descendants in Latin America. Sankofa’s Kansas City engagement is part of their first extended tour of the U.S., showcasing The City of Others, an evening-length work featuring powerful Afro-Colombian and Afro-contemporary dance with live drumming and singing.
