Jametatone’s Blastocyst
Composer and instrument designer J. Ashley Miller has been dedicated for the past 15 years to developing his own musical language for Kansas City audiences. In 2016, with the help of a Charlotte Street grant, Miller composed a full-length pop opera titled Echosis, which was chosen as a finalist at the 2018 New York Musical Festival. His newest composition, Frog in the Pot, will be given its premiere at Swope Park, and features three instruments of Miller’s own design: The Chariot, The Aguja, and a new instrument known only as “Goo.”
